Darwinians Invaded My Computer
Tired of the same old games? Looking to play something besides WoW? I’ve found the answer to your summer boredom in a little game called Darwinia.
From their website:
“The world of Darwinia is a virtual themepark, running entirely inside a computer network and populated by a sentient evolving life form called the Darwinians. Unfortunately Darwinia has been overrun by a computer virus which has multiplied out of control. Your task is to destroy the Viral Infection and save the Darwinians from extinction.”
Fortunately this game is available for OSX, Linux and Windows, so nobody gets left out in the rain. Darwinia looks like no other game, it’s got a decidedly minimalistic presentation akin to TRON. Darwinia has received a few awards including, the Independent Games Festival 2006 winner of the Seumas McNally Grand Prize Innovation in Visual Art, also PC Gamer 5 Stars, IGN Editor’s Choice award.
