Murder, Madness, and Mayhem On The Ship
The decadence of the 1920’s, the romance of a luxury cruiser, the murders of the century highlight The Ship from Outerlight studios. It’s like an Agatha Christie murder mystery set on an art-decco luxury Cruise ship. Developed for the Half-Life Source engine, it is a Steam-distributed game. The player must assassinate a specific passenger with whatever is handy on the ship. You may use axes, golf clubs, croquet mallets, even a letter opener. The catch is, as you are hunting your next victim, you are being hunted as well. If you think you know who is following you, change your outfit to throw off your assailant. The trick to pulling off the perfect murder, is stealth. If you get caught by the security cameras or security personnel, you have to pay a fine and spend some time in the brig. The Ship is not merely a game of cat and mouse, there is a bit of The Sims thrown in to make matters more interesting. You must tend to your bodily needs such as sleeping, eating, and socializing. Now keep your eye peeled when on the john, you could end up with a flare gun to the face. The game also supports online mulitplay. The Ship looks wonderfully goofy with a solid sense of black humor. For $20 bucks, you can’t book a more irresistible trip on any other cruise line.
