Tranvestite Shoplifters Terrorize New Orleans.
New Orleans has seen many changes since Katrina hit almost a year ago. Fruit Brute and I left, Nagin got re-elected, and now Trannies terrorize the Uptown shopping district on Magazine St. A group of transvestites have been shoplifting different stores along Magazine St. for months. They first struck on March 31, hitting the lovely boutique Vegas. Every few days they strike another store. They once made off with $2,000 dollars worth of merchandise from Turncoats , a clothing exchange. When they strike a store, one distracts the salesperson, and the others run off with the clothing. It’s been difficult to apprehend these renegade fashion terrorists, since they have to be caught in the act to get arrested. It’s gotten so bad, the Magazine merchants have rallied together to create the “Drag Queen Alert List.” If one business notices the Trannies, they call everyone down the list to watch out for the thieving queens. New Orleans City Business has a full article on this phenomenon. One man who was interviewed described the queens as, “Drug-addicted and fearless in their lust for designer shoes, jackets and jewelry.” Life is rough when you have excellent taste, no money, and a penchant for cross dressing. In the immortal words of Dorian Corey , “If everybody went to balls, and did less drugs, it would be a fun world, wouldn’t it?”
