Holding Out For A Hero

Fun, fun, fun. BioWare Austin, the recently-established sophomore studio from RPG powerhouse BioWare Corp., has licensed the use of Simutronics’ new HeroEngine, according to this tasty treat from Voodoo Extreme. BioWare Austin was launched to focus on development of MMO games, and has already begun work on an undisclosed MMORPG. (Thoughts on Minsc and Boo Live, anyone? Anyone?) HeroEngine, which showed at E3 and has been in development for five years, is designed with precisely this goal in mind. I’m sure I’ll be eleventy-one years old before the thing goes gold, whatever it is, but I’ll be a happy old hobbit.

Simutronics will have a demo of Hero-Engine at the Austin Game Conference in September.
