Naughty America

There is nothing I like to do more than bathe in the hypocrisy of others. It feels so good and it’s always a good laugh, plus if you didn’t laugh, you’d probably have to cry. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart has made a sport out of the thing I love. I could give real world examples here, but most of them are completely inappropriate for this site.
At E3, now that it will become something completely different and maybe this will change for next year, we can discuss a little thing that flew under the radar. Many developers creating games with more “adult material” were denied to display at the show. How many rounds of ammunition did I shoot? How much gore did I experience? But a couple sex game developers would have been too much?
Gamespot, part of the CNET network, refuses to even acknowledge the game I’m about to mention, but IGN at least has a paragraph on it. Once again, violence in all its forms is fine, but sex is the destroyer of worlds.
Naughty America: The Game is a MMORPG for the adult set. Part hook-up site, part cyber site (webcams can be displayed) and part The Sims. It will supposedly be out in fourth quarter. The reason that Naughty America is getting mentioned here, rather than the glut of other similar games that are making their way through development now, is that Naughty America has made the descision to support and create animations for their gay players.
Not only that, but the art style for the game was created by Glen Hanson, most people recognize him for the character designs in Daria and Spy Groove, but you should also check out the Chelsea Boys comic strip which he illustrates.
Maybe this game will finally make me understand yaoi. You can learn all about Naughty America and see the trailer for the game here.

hmm.. i want that game….
I think it’s not getting a lot of coverage not because of the sexual content but because it’s an amazingly lame idea.
