NFL Street 3's Manic Monday

Interestingly there has been much football news coming out of EA this week. First we have the launch of Madden-Ultra-Pro-Tem-2012, along with FIFA ‘07 information as well. Football for everyone!

So what I found really interesting is that NFL Street 3 will have a member of the Cincinnati Bangles on the cover. Now, I don’t know which one of the ladies to the right is Chad Johnson, but apparently she can really come up with a great canned answer for being on the cover of a video game:

“This is a big honor to be selected for the cover for NFL STREET 3 since street football was the first step to learning our moves for our pro careers,” said Johnson. “I really like this game and it is so much fun to play with all the new airborne moves you can do now. I’ve always been known to have style when I play but now I can show how stylin’ I am in NFL STREET 3.”

It’s great that Johnson’s eternal flame was sparked and she can show us how “stylin” she is by walking like an egyptian for us in the game…

Oh my, I think I’ve made a terrible mistake.

CINCINNATI BENGALS’ CHAD JOHNSON TAKES IT TO THE STREETS AS COVER ATHLETE FOR EA’s NFL STREET 3

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Aug. 24, 2006 – Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson will appear on the cover of NFL Street 3, the newest iteration of the EA SPORTS BIG™ football franchise that allows gamers to break out of the constraints of traditional gridiron football and take it to the streets and change the game.

Johnson, a member of the Bengals since 2001, is widely regarded as one of NFL’s elite wideouts, leading the AFC in receptions and receiving yards in 2005-06 and has earned three straight Pro Bowl selections. Additionally, The Associated Press, Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers and Sporting News named Johnson to the first-team All-Pro squads. Johnson has paced the AFC in receiving yards for three straight seasons. In a December 18, 2005 game against the Detriot Lions, Johnson secured a career milestone by catching 11 passes in a division-clinching win.

NFL STREET 3 lets gamers use the super athletes of the NFL to play football both on the ground and in the air. Players can now jump into the air to collect items and game modifiers that exist above the playing field which can change the way the game is played. Once airborne, players can pull off style moves that rack up even more points. Also new to the game is the ability to control the Gamebreakers and pull off extreme power moves that are available to both the offense and the defense. Earn and maintain respect week-to-week by dominating games and unlocking new events with mini-games. NFL STREET 3, scheduled for release November 14 under the EA SPORTS BIG™ brand, is being developed by EA-Tiburon for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and PSP (PlayStation Portable) system.
