Print Your Own Avatars

ZCorporation has a nifty high definition 3D printer used to print out 3D models. The printer was developed to allow companies to print a prototype of their product before going to production. This printer may also be used to print out your MMO character as a memento of your fabulous journey through cybertubes. Anvil Prototypes can assist you with your 3D printing needs. All they need is a VRML file, and presto, your own precious moments figurine. The model is comprised of many layers of powdered plastic bound by glue, which the printer creates from your 3D file. Curious on how to capture your character in 3D? Try OGLE to create a 3D snapshot of any 3D OpenGL application like Google Earth, or your favorite MMO. Take that snapshot, import it into Maya and gussy it up a bit. Then submit your textures. It’s a bit of work, but the results are worth it. The above pic is from the upcoming Spore. Now you can finally fill up that shadowbox you got from your grandmother for Christmas.
