PS2 And PSP In The Pink!
Damn lucky Brits! They get Ab Fab, The Office, French and Saunders, and now this! That’s right, our brothers and sisters across the big drink are being graced with a bubble gum pink slimline PS2 and a special “Pink” (that’s the singer) bundled PSP. British Gaming Blog reports that the systems will hit in October and September respectively.
Of course, as is typical with large corporate companies, they feel like they will be able to reach women with a product as long as they color it pink. They need to wake up and realize that they might actually have better luck marketing color coordinated systems to GAY GUYS. Every time I see something game related that is marketed to women I usually think, “Hey, I’d like that too!”. These marketing people need to start realizing the power of the almighty gay dollar!
I am certainly not saying that every gay guy wants a pink something or other. I’m certainly not so base as to EVER rely on stereotypes, but I really feel that game marketers need to start courting the gay game audience as well as the womens’. I guess they haven’t figured out that we have all that disposable income like the beer and car companies have. I just want to drive my pink Miata to the game store, buy RE4 and come home and play it on my pink PS2 on my pink couch with my Lasa Apso on my lap…is that so wrong?

a bit too pink for me. i do like the pink ds though.
I believe Sony are releasing this here in the UK to coincide with the release of Singstar: Pop. You can’t get much more gay than that.
I’m not really a pink kind of guy but I actually think it’s quite good on a PS2…
I wish Sony would release some of the color variants in the US, the silver and ceramic white PS2 (original model) looked really nice.
This would be good except that it makes me want strawberry milk…and it’s the slimline PS2 design (yuk).
