PS3 To Save World, Minus Critics

I was so moved by Alexander’s requiem for Sony that I just had to find some good news about the old goat. Luckily, Sony helped me out in a big way. It seems that the processing power of the PS3 will cure Alzheimer’s, which is awesome because I’m no spring chicken. (Think Martha Graham in a dickie.) Apparently Sony and US biologists will harness a distributed computing network of linked PS3s with “performance similar to supercomputers” to learn precisely how poorly-folded proteins cause diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and some cancers. Then they’re going to pick up their game controllers and blast away all disease forever.
Eat it, Microsoft. You can keep your format – my boy Sony is going to save the freaking world.

wouldn’t it have been a whole lot easier to just have a screensaver app like Seti@home? I mean, I don’t plan on leaving my game systems on all the time, and when I am playing a game the processor power would go to that.
