Voice Actor Tony Jay Dies During Surgery Recovery

The name may not be familiar, but the voice is. Veteran Royal Shakespeare Actor Tony Jay has lent his deep baritone voice to many video games and cartoons throughout his accomplished career. He was the Narrator for World of Warcraft, Magneto in X-Men Legends, the Narrator in Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, King in Armed and Dangerous, the Narrator in Hunter: The Reckoning, the list goes on and on.
Jay had entered surgery to remove a non-cancerous tumor in his lungs. Surgeons believed that he would make a full recovery. Tony Jay lost his long battle to recover from micro surgery on August 13th. Our deepest sympathies to his wife Martha and his son Adam.

That’s too bad. Tony Jay is one of my favorite voice actors out there… I mean, c’mon, he played Megabyte on Reboot. How cool is that?
Tony Jay’s voice was with me nearly every step of the way. It’s a sad thing but good to see him recognized. Heaven’s voiceover portfolio just got a little more bad*ss. I will pour one on the curb for my man Tony Jay.
Man, that sucks. Although I must say no list of Tony Jay’s videogame credits is complete without his work in Planescape Torment and Legacy of Kain.
