3D Realm's CEO Responds To Employee Departure

On August 31st I reported several employees from 3D Realms left the company. The CEO of 3D Realms is downplaying the recent egress, by diverting attention to all of the progress the company has accomplished on the 9 year old Duke Nukem Forever.
Today 3D Realms President George Broussard responded on Shack’s message boards, insisting that development is going full steam ahead on DNF but not outright denying the departure of certain personnel. “Physics and animation systems are virtually finished and shippable. It’s simply maintenance and polish from here on out. We haven’t needed to make substantial changes to those systems in months. The changes we have made, were made without great effort.”Broussard goes on to say that there are two sides to every story. That’s interesting considering that he really didn’t give us an idea about what happened to his personnel. He didn’t even mention that they were gone. Broussard just spoke of the minor tweaks the game needs to get out of the door.
Of course we are all concerned about this project, it’s been 9 years. What’s the hold up? How did this happen? Shouldn’t there have been two Duke Nukem games completed in the time that it took you to almost finish one? Let’s just hope that this game shows all of the polish that 9 years of development can give to a project. Not many games have reached this length of a development cycle, so it will be fascinating to see how this time has been spent. The gauntlet has been thrown. I challenge Mr. Broussard to deliver the best Duke Nukem yet.

I call BULLSHIT.
What took them sooooooooooo long? Does “Duke Nukem Forever” means “You will be waiting forever?”...”Duke Nukem is history?”
