Grand Theft Auto, Actually

Canadian hoodlum and Grand Theft Auto enthusiast Shylo Kujawski has been booked and charged with, well, grand theft auto – thanks in part to his perhaps overly-literal tattoo. More than a simple fanboy, Kujawski’s ink advertised his involvement in the Vancouver underworld: a great idea for copping some street cred…and catching the attention of the cops. Or in this case, the Mounties, who noticed the suspect’s tattoo – they also noticed him climb into a stolen car and drive it off a short ways before accidentally triggering the wheel lock and bringing himself to a halt. Not smooth. Not legal, either. Kujawski was arrested for possession of stolen property in connection with an auto theft, breach of probation and driving while suspended. Games are fun, law-abiding Sunday readers, but the long arm of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is not.
Thanks Gamespot, you hoser.

I think this at the least goes to show that just because you can do something in a video game, it does not mean you’re going to be any good at it in real life (ie: practice law, conduct surgery, fly a plane, shoot a gun, steal a car, etc.).
This is not good. I can just hear Jack Thompson now. People should STOP BEING SO STUPID, because it’s making those a-holes who think gamers are crazed maniacs look right to those people who don’t pay attention to reality, and there are a frighteningly large amount of those people.
