Igarashi Brings Back 2D Castlevania To Next-Gen Consoles

Koji Igarashi states that 2D Castlevania is coming to next-gen consoles. When asked about the reception of Symphony of the Night on Xbox Live Arcade and the possibility of 2D Castlevania on home consoles, Igarashi said, “I hope more people will enjoy the 2D Castlevania experience as a result of it.”
Igarashi warns that Castlevania, “may not be on all three platforms,” simply due to resources. So he will choose his weapon to deliver a rebirth of the series on next-gen home consoles.
“I am very happy with the download services from the next-gen platforms, so I would also like to provide other previous Castlevania games on these services,” he added.
When asked about the possibility of bringing Symphony of the Night to the PSP, he said, “As for offering SOTN, yes, i would love to provide it as a download if the users would want that.
What great news for all of the 2D Castlevania lovers out there. We’ve been enjoying the GBA and DS entries for quite some time, but I miss the experience of playing true 2D Castlevania on the big screen. It’s been some time, Igarashi, we hunger for more.
