Microsoft Cuts The Wires To Your Headset

Papa Gates has made your 360 life even better. 2old2play sneaks us a peek into the upcoming Xbox 360 wireless headset that Microsoft will be releasing over the holidays. The $59.99 accessory operates on the same 2.4Ghz tech as the wireless 360 controller and has a similar range (30 ft), but brings a supposed “dramatic improvement” in voice quality over the wired headset. Battery life is said to be about eight hours of talk time, but the unit will only get its juice from a supplied wall charger. The wireless headset connects to the 360 in much the same way as a wireless controller, and the system will be able to support four of each – although Microsoft claims the Xbox 360 can handle up to 40 wireless devices at once. (It ain’t the only one that can manage that many units in one session, but that’s another story entirely.)
