MTV Purchases Harmonix

MTV recently purchased Harmonix, who made Guitar Hero, for $75 million in cold hard cash. Can you imagine what that looks like in person? I would have to dive in it like Scrooge McDuck.

MTV claims that they bought Harmonix to give fans of MTV more interactivity with the MTV product. MTV has plans to capitalize on Harmonix’s karaoke games to game with other players on their website.

Hopefully this means the music tracks will be easier to obtain from the original artists. I’d like to see more celebrity skins in Guitar Hero. Imagine rocking out with Black Sabbath on War Pigs, or how about Ann and Nancy Wilson for Crazy on You.
