Prey For Free Stuff
So after making us wait ten years for what turned out to be a fairly mediocre bang-bang shoot ‘em up with an anemic gameplay mechanic tossed in for kicks (down, fragboys, down – I’m just bitter), 3D Realms has announced that the forthcoming additional content for Prey will be, prepare yourselves, free. Now for those of you who, like myself, aren’t terribly happy to have turned over our hard-earned super happy funbucks for this totally-ok-but-hardly-worth-the-wait game in the first place, this may not seem like anything to twirl your pasties about. But given the indifference shown by certain other game developers (tiny text in Dead Rising got you down? ‘Sorry, that would be hard,’ says Capcom), it’s nice to see a developer toss us a bone, even if it’s a tiny one. Although since 3D Realms declares the new stuff will be out “when it’s done,” we can expect to be well into our geriatric stage by the time we see our gratis goods.
