Rockstar Announces L.A. Noire
Rockstar and Team Bondi have teamed up to bring their new game L.A. Noire to the PS2. Team Bondi is a new studio formed Brendean McNamara, who was responsible for the Getaway series.
From Rockstar’s press release:
L.A Noire is an interactive detective story set in the classic noir period of the late 1940’s. L.A. Noire blends action, detection and complex storytelling and draws players into an open-ended challenge to solve a series of gruesome murders. Set in a perfectly recreated Los Angeles before freeways, with a post-war backdrop of corruption, drugs and jazz.
Sam Houser, the founder of Rockstar Games, was quoted saying:
Brendan and I have known each other for a long time, and to finally have the opportunity to work together on a game is exciting. The longstanding mutual respect and the combined experience between the two of us make this a great partnership.
There is still no word on a release date or a platform for the game. Rockstar just said that it will be a “next generation” title. The official trailer will be released on October 5th. Until then, we can just wait with baited breath to see how Rockstar tackles the noir world of the 1940’s.
