What The Space Giraffe?!?

My retinas have been seared out of their sockets. This video is a graphic demo for the upcoming game Space Giraffe, which is the unofficial title for the unofficial sequel to Tempest 2000 by Jeff Minter. Minter created the Neon music visualizer for the Xbox 360, which Space Giraffe uses as the main graphics engine. The game will be released for the 360 on Xbox Live Arcade in 2007. Until then, we can only enjoy this concept design and trip the light fantastic.

p.s. Thanks Justin for pointing this one out!

If I had ever dropped LSD, I’d swear this is an acid flashback, visualized.

I had seen some still shots of Space Giraffe a couple of weeks ago and it looked certainly unique. Rail shooters can go either way on the fun scale for me, but I could see myself spending 1200 points on this number just to support the sheer uniqueness of the title. That and the headtrip.
