Aquaria Teaser Trailer
A few weeks back I found this game called Aquaria. The site featured a few pictures and some concept art. What I noticed was a beautifully hand crafted world with an interesting presentation. The story wasn’t groundbreaking, but the hand painted visuals were spectacular, and I liked the fact that there was no HUD.
Now there is a teaser trailer up, and it shows the game in action. The game relies on voiceovers, so there is no clicking through text to advance the plot. Finally, someone answered my prayers. I prefer in-game plot advances. Clicking through endless dialogue sessions seems a bit dated. Sure some games rely on that to advance their story, but it’s more engaging when there is no break between story and action.
Good luck to Derek Yu on Aquaria, I hope to see this game playable soon. I’ll start watching all of the mermaid classics leading up to the release, like The Little Mermaid, Splash, and my favorite, Aquamarine.
