EB/Gamestop PS3 Pre-Orders: Going, Going, Gone!
It should come as no surprise that the PS3 pre-orders went like hotcakes this morning. A quick call to my local EB revealed that they indeed had 16 PS3’s available for pre-order and all were gone within the first few minutes of being open. But, when I asked about pre-orders for the Wii, I was told that they may be taking them by the end of the week! Hopefully, they will have more than a measly 16 to offer…

Hey, there’s that rumor flying around that Nintendo already has 2 million Wiis on hand right now. That’s already 4 times the amount the PS3 will have on opening day. We might not get that bottleneck.
Snagged a ps3 preorder this morning, rolled out of bed at 8:00, ran down to my local EB which had 12 available. I was #13, then someone gave up… Shortly after I was given #12, we were told about the 12 available.
Happy birthday to me, indeed! :). They opened the store early at about 9, and we were given the choice between the 20 and 60 gig models, even I was given the choice despite being #12. This is unlike the 360 pre order when stores were given a certain number of each. Stores will apparently get what they order. This leads me to believe there’s going to be a truckload of 20 gigs available on launch day. I wonder how they’re going to fill the demand for 60 gigs if it’s anything like the store I was at. 60 Gigs: 12, 20 Gigs: 0.
Yeah the one here sold out too. Only 4 though at that store.
Last pre-order went to some old mom and her 12ish year old son. All were 60GB models.
