How Do You Say "Rip-Off" In Latin?

This morning, the website for dtb’s upcoming adventure game, Belief & Betrayal, was launched on the net. Before I go any further, though, I feel that I should point out how dtb is actually a pretty decent publisher: they published the special edition of The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, and Runaway 2.

However, having looked at Belief & Betrayal’s website, I’m not exactly stunned by the game’s original plot:

Belief & Betrayal revolves around true thriller themes: belief and superstition, power and corruption, truth and conspiracy. Jonathan Danter is a journalist living and working in New York City. At his uncle’s funeral he stumbles upon a number of puzzling inconsistencies – there are things afoot that seem to point to something much larger going on.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. All this sounds totally original.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. All this sounds totally original. Now that Dan Brown’s made it cool to bash the Catholic Church in public without the fear of getting burned at the stake, I’m actually surprised that more of this stuff hasn’t appeared on the market yet. It’s just that, y’know, I thought the plagarism would be a little more original.

Take a look at the image posted to the right: code box on the top is from the game’s website, while the cryptex on the bottom is from a movie poster for The DaVinci Code. Gee, I don’t see a similarity at all, do you?

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
