Madden More Popular Than Pokemon!

The research company NPD Group has released the numbers for video game sales in September: surprise, surprise, the PS2 version Madden NFL ‘07 held the Number 1 spot on the list, while its Xbox 360 counterpart fell from second place (in August) to fifth this month.
Surprisingly, to me at least, Saint’s Row debuted at Number 2 for September, proving that gamers enjoy GTA-style games if they’re not cheesy rip-offs. But I have to say that it truly warmed my cockles to see both the PS2 and Gamecube versions of LucasArts and Traveler’s Tales’ Lego Star Wars II on the list. I’m always happy when cool/quirky/fun games do well, and the Lego Star Wars franchise is one of the few games worthy of the Star Wars universe.
