Microsoft Twofer: 100GB HDD & HD-DVD Drive PC-Friendly

Microsoft comes out swinging with two items that should slap a smile on any gamer’s face. First off, Microsoft has announced a 100GB hard drive for the Xbox 360.
I know, I peed a little too.
X06 Korea was the place to be this week, as you can see, if you wanted to stare at a great big slide of an appropriately demure little big drive. Big little drive? The drive is small physically, is what I’m trying to say, but it’s big on the inside. No, not like a magic hat, like a hard drive. With the gigabytes and whatnot.
Then Big M turns around and lets us know that their $200 HD-DVD drive for the Xbox 360 will connect to PCs with USB, although its unclear exactly how the hypothetical PC will get along with the drive, given the lack of software support and HDCP hurdles. Still, at least they’re laying the groundwork for interconnectivity: it would be great to be able to claim that $200 nets you an HD-DVD player and an external HD-DVD PC drive, no?

If the 20GB 360 HD is $100, I have a hard time imagining what the price would be for a 100GB one.
