New 'Street Fighter' Movie On The Way?
Famed developer, Capcom, and Hyde Park Entertainment are teaming up to do a film version of the popular Street Fighter series. Justin Marks (Voltron) will be the scribe and the release date is said to be in 2008, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the franchise.
The storyline to this film will follow Chun Li, though the exact plot is held behind some pretty tight lips at the moment. Let us just hope it doesn’t turn out at all like the infamous 1994 Jean Claude Van Damme live-action film, Street Fighter. You know, this would also be a good time to develop Zangief’s character a bit more.

My friend Gilgamesh is a huge Chun-Li fan (hell, he runs http://kikouken.com/ ). We’ve been talking about the film a bit. He’s hoping something good would be done with it, but I’m in the better-safe-then-sorry camp myself.
