Silver Slimline PS2

The PS2 gets a shiny new coat with the recently released limited edition Silver Slimline PS2. It’s a little strange that this is coming out at the end of PS2’s life span. Sony must be thinking that this is one last ditch effort to get more people to buy their soon-to-be-defunct system. Which is fine. It will sell for $130 dollars, and includes a silver Dual Shock controller.
The PS2 has been a highly successful system with a six year lifespan, selling more than 111 million units. It has had an expansive library with over 1.12 billion games sold, and a huge list of discounted titles at this time. Thanks for the memories PS2, we will all miss your precious slim sillouette and your Dual Shock, pulsing with excitement. I weep a single tear.

I really wish the Ceramic White PS2 they had in Japan had come out here. It wasn’t the slimline, either, but the older, better design. That thing was hot.
Here’s hoping they release the silver Dual Shocks seperately.
I’d prefer they send it off with a limited edition brown, turd shaped one.
in Mexico we say, “patadas de ahogado”
they sell the silver dual shocks seperately here (AUS) so I think you’ll be in luck Shin.
a library of 1.2 billion games? are you sure thats not copies of all games sold, rather than number of games?
Wikipedia says: By the end of September 2006, there were 8,181 PS2 titles released worldwide (4,554 in Asia, 1,319 in North America, and 2,308 in Europe),[7] accounting for cumulative production shipments of 1.127 billion units.[8]
Actually, I could see myself buying this in the near future. My PS2 makes odd noises, and since I ain’t buying a PS3 any time soon, I may get that one if my current system craps out.
I have a feeling Sony is still going to push this for a 10 year system, like they did with the original PS1.
That said, I really want one of these, being that my PS2 is now lost :(
