Thompson Contempt Hearing In Court Today

It looks like Jack Thompson might finally have karma bite him on the ass for all the publicity stunts, tantrums, and juvenile behavior (threatening to sue anyone who disagrees with him) he’s pulled over the past couple of years. GamePolitics reported earlier this week that Take Two’s lawyers had petitioned a hearing to Judge Friedman to find Thompson in contempt of court.

Though no one has published Take Two’s motion, it appears that the contempt hearing is in regards to all the angry statements good ol’ Miami Jack issued after failing to get Bully banned from store shelves in Florida. To be perfectly honest, I’m not sure how he thought that sending a long, venomous, letter to the judge wasn’t going to land him in a pot of hot water; still, he seemed plenty surprised by the motion:

Thompson reacted harshly to the news, issuing dire warnings to opposing counsel as well as Judge Friedman himself. Perhaps not coincidentally, Thompson announced just a few days ago that he was planning to run for Friedman’s spot on the bench in 2008.

One knowledgeable observer suggested Thompson’s sudden candidacy might be a legal maneuver designed to force Judge Friedman to recuse (remove) himself from the case. Indeed, Thompson has filed a motion demanding that Friedman step down.

Yeah, good luck weaseling out of this one, Jack.

Jackson…...as a judge?

Sadly, with the retards running congress, you never know who could be judge.

The judge did recuse himself, saying something like “let Thompson be someone else’s problem”, so I assume the hearing has been rescheduled.

The judge did so because he filed a complaint against Thompson with the Florida Bar Association based on his behavior in & out of court. His rationale was that since he’d filed a complaint, he could no longer be considered a neutral party in the case.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
