Touch-a Touch-a Touch Me, PSP

The PSP is a bit of a sad morality tale, when you think about it. Big, shiny, bristling with features and technological possibilities, backed by some of the world’s biggest hardware and software and marketing folks, the PSP looked like the future. It plays movies, it plays games practically as advanced as the last generation of consoles, and it does…you know, other stuff, too. But along comes Nintendo’s happy-candy DS, tossing up one extra screen and a stylus and poof, David slays Goliath.
Well, some homebrew types have mustered up a solution to the PSP’s fears of tactile inadequacy, the PSPTouchME, a device which will plug into your PSP’s USB port along with a screen protector-type overlay that is, quelle surprise, a touch screen. Being a grass roots affair, there isn’t much in the way of content to expect, but it’s an interesting step in an interesting direction.
