Want to See Your Wii in HD?

Then you had better have your credit/debit card handy as it will be available through online retailers at launch! Such online retailers include EB Games/Gamestop, Circuit City, Best Buy and Nintendo’s own site (where I managed to get Gamecube component cables months after they were “discontinued”).

The cable will retail for $29.99 and no, you cannot use the one for the Gamecube on the Wii. At least it will be available at launch for order and all 30 or so launch titles will support 480p and 16:9 mode. I can’t wait and I want it now!

I just got my first HD TV (they’re expensive in the UK, I don’t know about the US) and I still don’t understand this 480i-480p-720p-15000x-whatever business, can some kind soul explain please? I understand the “makes it look good = get one” equasion at least…

I don’t believe that 480p is HD.

480p is progressive scan which is a bit better than analog. Right?

480p is not HD, it’s “ED” (Enhanced Definition). HD is 720p or higher.
