Warcraft Fans Get Snippy With South Park, Nobody Surprised

Holy mother of inevitable ironic redundancy! These are the kids in school who got kicked in the shins and deserved it: last week’s machinamazing episode of South Park had the boys romping through and eventually saving the World of Warcraft, but some Azerothians (Azerothites? Azerothim? I’m sure I’ll get a freaking manifesto ...) have already begun clambering to see who can get to the top of the geek-on-an-accuracy-tirade pile first. WoW fans from basement lairs across the star-strewn galaxy have been pointing out inconsistencies between their (ok, our) beloved game and its appearance on the…cartoon comedy known for its…poor animation and…sigh…irreverence for pretty much everything. Can you see where this is headed? Some of the opening gambits for biggest loser of the year include:
Trailers for this episode show Stan and Kyle in what appears to be the Undercity, right after Kenny is killed. In the airing of the show, they were in Goldshire.
Geography, check.
When Randy gives Stan the Sword of 1000 Truths, he is able to talk to Stan even though Stan isn’t using his headset microphone…There could be a desktop mic or one built in to the monitor, etc.
Game features, check.
Cartman’s character is the main tank and wields an Unyielding Maul. He is the leader of the boys’ group and is always the last killed. His armor color is the same as his jacket. He is a warrior, but when you see his actionbar, it looks like a Rogues actionbar (It has Eviscrate and Stealth).
UI, check.
That’s a darn good start. I can’t wait to see this episode’s Wiki page evolve. My favorite quote, of course, is a little more reflective:
I can only imagine how happy the South Park creators must be to see that the very people they were making fun of have turned out to put their social inadequacies on display.
A-freaking-men, brother. Ah, the sweet smell of absurdity!

I’m actually not bothered by people pointing out the inaccuracies. What’s the harm? Live and let live.
I on the other hand, love the fact that people are complaining. Its free comedy and fufills the stereotype perfectly.
