Xbox 3 Already In Development?
Unlike certain PlayStation 4 shenanigans, this tasty tidbit is sure to have fanboys and anyone frustrated by the current overhyped next-gen bottleneck twitching in anti-corporate rage. Well, maybe not twitching. Hissing, maybe. Despite the understandable reality that product cycles always overlap and that hardware folks have to be planning for what comes next (even when what’s coming shortly may still be only half-baked), it’s still kind of weird to know that in secret techno-dungeons across the world, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo braniacs are designing PS4s, Twiis and Xcubes. Which is why this quote from Kiziko, by European Microsoft head Chris Lewis remarking on the ongoing R&D into the next Xbox console makes it all feel so Sisyphean:
You can’t sit back on your laurels in this business – the consumer won’t let you, the developers certainly won’t let us. So that’s happening right now.
