Yaoi-Con 2006: Hot & Creepy In San Francisco

Wait, they actually have this? They do. They totally do. Yaoi-Con 2006 kicks off later this month in beautiful San Francisco – “a celebration of male beauty and passion in anime and manga.” That’s a theme I can get behind! For those of you who aren’t standing at the bleeding edge of weird Japanese boy-porn, yaoi originally referred to poorly-drawn, self-published fan comics, but has come to include gay male cartoon action of a highly romantic, over-the-top, frilly nature. It looks like the conference will give yaoi enthusiasts a chance to shop around for some classy artwork, bid on a hottie at the Bishounen auction (think sexed-up cosplay drag queens, only different), enjoy the manga library and swap meet, and some kind of cafe involving something called “Project Man-Maid” that I’m trying pretty hard not to understand. See you there, gang! I’ll be the one dressed like Gackt.

Oh man, I only had recently discovered Yaoi via an earlier GayGamer post to a Takesan gallary.

I would love to see all the creativity at Yaoi-Con. If any GayGamer readers are in the vicinity and want to share some pics, please do!
All I am going to say is that I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
