10 Worst Consoles Ever

GameDaily has put together this humorous look at the consoles and handhelds that just didn’t quite do it for gamers. Honorees include the headache inducing Nintendo Virtual Boy (pictured), the curse laden Gizmondo, and that bringer of the worst Zelda games ever made, the Cdi. What are your votes for the worst console ever?
System Shock

Man, the Game.com wasn’t on there? I totally had/almost like one of those.
I was just playing Virtual Boy recently. ... aside from the headache I got, it was pretty damn cool.
Half-agree with including the Saturn on the list…. but I have to say, I had loads of fun with it and it remains one of my favorite consoles.
T.
Definitely the N-Gage. I had a QD sent to me and playing games on that was like ramming your fingers into a food processor. But less fun, somehow.
I played my Saturn almost more than I played my PSX, mostly due to having all the import Capcom fighting games for it that never got released here. While PSX gamers were struggling with broken gameplay and a controller ill-suited to 6-button fighting games, I was enjoying arcade-perfect, no load-times X-Men vs Street Fighter and Vampire Savior.
Saturn remains one of the best consoles I’ve ever owned, it’s inclusion on the list is tragic.
I agree with Shin Gallon on the inclusion of the Saturn. it did poorly in the US, but I hardly think that it is deserving of being included with the likes of the Jaguar or the CDI. I too have the Vs series of fighters for the Saturn, along with Dungeons and Dragons collection, Shining Force III, and Panzer Dragoon Saga. any system that has all of those titles does not belong in a “10 worst consoles” list.
where’s the Turbo Grafx/Turbo Express? the battery munching Game Gear? if sales are a question, I call the Neo Geo to the stand; a powerful console who no one could afford because it was like buying arcade technology for your home.
The Neo Geo had arcade perfect home enterteinment, when no one else did. But it really started to give off a stench when arcade gaming moved to 3D and it didn’t follow (*snicker* remember the Neo Geo 64?).
Once more, I call foul unto the inclusion of the Saturn. I love my virtual ON, Virtua Fighter, the well done 2D Fighters… And Die Hard Arcade, which I had to get in the UK bc it’s banned here, along with stuff like Virtua Cop (Heck yeah!)...
I’ll be the third to agree about the wrongness of the inclusion of the Saturn then.
Yeah, I had more games for the PSX, but I have much fonder memories of the games I played for the Saturn than I have for the PSX games.
Ack!
Forth then.
i still have my N-GAGE…and (looks around to make sure no one is looking)...i still play it on occasion.
The true tragedy of the Virtual Boy was that it’s creator was forced to resign from Nintendo as a result of it’s faliure. Considering he was also the creator of Metroid, and that he was later killed in an auto accident (when he likely wouldn’t have been if he’d still been with Nintendo), you have a true tale of woe…
VIRTUAL BOY is actually a lot of fun.
I actually own a game.com – i dare anyone to play through the first 5 minutes of resident evil 2
it’s rather tragic tha Gunpei was let go for the VB failing after the GB conquered the portables market with an iron fist. had he still been around, I think Metroid Fusion would have turned out a lot better. it may also be why we’ve not seen another Kid Icarus title. (he’s the man behind that as well, if I recall correctly.)
AND if that wasn’t enough, we have him to thank for Panel de Pon. (Tetris Attack) the world is poorer for his loss.
I miss my 3DO. The original Alone in the Dark and Way of the Warrior? Ha ha, good times.
