A Different Preview Of The PS3

The guys at Engadget got to do a hands on preview of the PS3 (lucky, lucky bastards getting invited down to SCEA headquarters!) that takes a look at both the ventilation system and media card readers within the console.
Their video is really simple, but it does a fantastic job of demonstrating how easy it is to use any major type of media card (memory stick of course, SD, and CompactFlash) with the PS3. They also show that the thing is covered with vents, which probably means that overheating might not be as big of an issue as we originally thought it would.
If you’ve got a problem with the quality of the flash video, there’s a hi-res version available for download on their site. Also, I’d recommend scrolling down and taking a look at the very nice, very large photos of the console Engadget was kind enough to share.
Plastation 3 hands-on preview

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The PS3 is a damn sexy looking system. I love the case design the most out of the 3 new systems, with the Wii’s simplicity and elegance being a close second.
The 360 somehow manages to be even uglier than the original Xbox, something I’d previously thought impossible.
Watching that preview got me a little too excited!
I totally agree Shin. The original Xbox was a huge ugly box and the PC-esque look that the 360 is using is just bleh. Plus, white is not a flattering colour for electronics IMO.
It may be less ugly than the original Xbox, but the PS3 is still bigger. It’s also bigger than my “jumbo” Foreman grill.
