Boy Beaten For Gears Of War

This is what’s wrong with violence in video games: it’s not the games that make people violent, it’s the Satanic marketing goons and their Luxan hyper-rage inducing hype machines that make consumers so desperate for a game that incidents such as this occur:
A 36 year old man was arrested on Wednesday after he sent a 15 year old to hospital in the back of an ambulance. The man wanted Gears, and decided that the only way to get one was to prey on those that had it.
The incident kicked off in a Gamestop queue. The store manager announced stocks were getting low, so the man made his way to the front, beat the kid up ,and then the man was the proud owner of Gears of War, temporarily.
Now, how the 15 year old was able to buy a copy of an “M” rated game such as Gears of War is another question entirely. But somehow, not as important as pointing out that it isn’t necessarily our children whom we should fear are being damaged by video games…it’s these jackass adults, man. They’ll get ya every time.

WAIT WAIT WAIT…..Gamestop employees probably saw this going on…...and they SOLD THE GUY THE GAME ANYWAY?
I would have denied him service. It’s that ass’s own falt for not reserving, why take it out on a kid?
Yeah, this story sounds pretty bad for everyone involved, not just the violent creep.
Great, so I’ll prob. get shot when on Wii launch day.
Er…so the lawsuit his defense lawyer will file will say that the game drove the man to this type of behavior after playi—wait no…. OH I see, the fifteen year old’s lawyer will file a lawsuit saying if the kid had had the game earlier he would have known how to cap that bitch when he stepped outta line, right? Maybe it was a failure of the GTA series not providing enough training?
Come on, theres gotta be an angle!
this just proves it- its not about making kids violent or making adults act childish- it’s about jackasses ruining things for the rest of us.
In California games are protected by the first amendment and M rated games can by bought by minors. I just read an article and the same is true for Michigan (this incident was in Detroit).
