Could There Be A New Katamari In The Works?
I will preface this story by saying this is only a rumor at this point, but it does give one hope!
According to my secret sources, Namco has registered trademarks in Japan for 3 possible Katamari titles: Katamari Damacy Tres Bien, Beautiful Katamari Damacy, and Katamari Damacy Kun. Now, that said, trademarks get registered every day and more often than not, they never get used. But the thought of a next-gen Katamari game really gets my blood pumping.
It’s widely known that creator Keita Takahashi has said he is done with the franchise, but perhaps Namco is going to pick up the thread without him.
So what do you think, are we ready for another Katamari game? I say HELLS YES!

Didn’t the original director/creator/whatever swear he’s not doing another Katamari and didn’t even want to do the 2nd one?
If there is a third, I doubt he’ll be involved and I bet that’ll hurt the quality.

A next-gen Katamari with updated visuals, zanier music, and motion-sensing controls would be amazing.
Yeah, the Battle Zone kind of controls were really less intuitive than they should have been.
I think that as long as they have a good level designer and a good translation team, a third Katamari will be awesome. The first one is great, but let’s not pretend the guy is a Miyamoto.
