Final Fantasy IX Cinematics: Part 2
I came across these videos on YouTube and I couldn’t help myself. I know that there are many out there who have missed out on Final Fantasy IX, considering that it came out towards the end of the line for PS1, most people were looking towards the newer systems. Also, it may have looked “childish” to many hardcore gamers out there. The art style was breathtakingly beautiful, from the character designs to the environments. After the sleek, tall, mature characters of Final Fantasy VIII, IX brought emphasis to the fantasy elements of the series while borrowing visual elements from the original trilogy for the NES. I always almost cry whenever I see the vivi clip on the airship when he saw his “brothers” die and go angry uber black mage.
It’s odd, I keep seeing FFIX mentioned everywhere – and just a month ago, I purchased a PS1 solely so I could replay that game .
Easily my favorite RPG ever… it’s just so captivating.
Thank you so much for posting about FF IX! It is my absolute favourite Final Fantasy, and it hurts me to watch it be ignored time and again. It was funny, beautiful, well-written, and had by far the best mini-games of any FF (I’ve played them all). Hurray!
