Fortune Announces Its Scariest Tech Of 2006

I can’t really remember the last time I looked at, or even thought about, Fortune magazine. I’m not rich and I’m not planning to be rich anytime in the foreseeable future, so I don’t see the use in reading a magazine that I imagine the likes of Donald Trump and Paris Hilton’s dad reads.
Fortunately, (ha, ha…get it?) GoNintendo has the wherewithal to dredge through all those boring articles to find mention of the Nintendo Wii. Where they found it though, is the odd part. It’s number 10 on their list of 12 Scariest Tech things of 2006, it’s offense: its name. Now I’m not calling Fortune behind the times, but didn’t we all get over that a while back?
The Wii keeps interesting company with the likes of Windows Vista, paperless voting machines, the Blu-ray vs HD-DVD mess, Hewlett-Packard’s business ethics and perhaps most terrifying and dangerous of all, the spontaneously combustible Sony lithium-ion batteries.

Lots of guys are scared of the Wii. Some day they’ll get over their fear and get up the nerve to take it in hand.
Yeah, sure, Wii is probably one of the crappiest names they could have chosen, but to include it amongst such frightening items as the paperless voting machines?
Um… no.
