PS3 Already Scheduled For Firmware Update

Hey kids, guess what? As soon as you get home and unpack your PS3, you get to download firmware updates! According to Engadget,
Sony saved its PlayStation Network online service functionality for a version 1.1 update, which can be accessed from a menu item on the PS3 on launch day.
Exactly what the PS3’s 1.1 software Between the PS3 update and the upcoming PSP 3.0 firmware upgrage, players will be able to access content over a wi-fi connection (so, I think this will only be on the uber-pricey version of the PS3) using a new system known as “Remote Play.” Using Remote Play, users will be able to purchase/download game content for the PSP.
Wow… we get to spend tons of money on the console and its games, unpack/set it up, and then wait to play it while software downloads. Fantastic. Sony sure knows how to show us a good time.

Though I doubt it will be that long of a download.
So I can’t download PS1 games for my PSP unless I have a PS3?
It might be that way initially. But I believe the Kaz said that you wouldn’t need a PS3 to download PSone games to your PSP.
And once again my stance on never buying a console on launch is justified.
