The Wii Controller Matrix Guide
To clarify any questions you may have regarding which controller (Wiimote, Nunchuck, Classic, and Gamecube/Wavebird) you can use with each type of game on the Wii, Infendo has created this little controller matrix guide. I’m still curious if I can use the wiimote to play Keith Courage in Alpha Zones for the TG-16. Or what about Flicky for the Genesis? What is that question mark doing on the matrix, staring at me with glaring uncertainty?!!? So many questioned unanswered, I don’t know if I can stand it much longer.

There’s no reason Genesis and TG16 games couldn’t be played on the wiimote…. it has enough buttons, they’re just oddly placed for some games.
I’m just bummed I can’t get a VC controller and use it to play everything, including all my Gamecube games…. might as well just keep my Wavebird for VC games.
