Viva Pinata Commercial

Nice, I really want this game! You go Horsetachio!! Use your superior acting skills to manipulate those children to do your bidding! Now run to safety! Anyone out there play this, yet? I’m very curious to know what it’s like.

I have to say it’s one of the most addicting games I’ve ever played. I absolutley love it. Best title on the 360 I’ve bought. It’s a lot like Harvest Moon mixed with Animal Crossing and then irratiated to crazy levels.

I tried out the demo/video thing from Live, but the pinatas were REALLY irritating. Is the actual game better than that awful demo thing (please tell me it is)?

No idea, I don’t have an internet connection at home.

I agree, Skorp, I was irritated with that “interactive” video…lame.

I love this game. I bought it on a fluke and I can’t stop playing it. It has an understated charm about it.

Viva Pinata can be easily dismissed as a kids game, but is much more complex and much deeper than it appears on it’s surface. I was/am addicted to it. The only thing to get me off of VP for more than an hour was Elite Beat Agents.

While it has garnered a lot of comparisons to Animal Crossing, it is deeper than merely collecting/growing selling. The whole food chain/pinata interaction/romance aspect makes it much more like a sim than AC ever was. At this time VP is solely 1P offline, save for trading pinatas/items with friends online. A future update will allow you to visit another players garden, we are told but it is still ABSOLUTELY worth the $49.99.

I’m not an ad wiz or anything, but in a video game commercial, I would rather see more of the game than some wierd set-up that has nothing to do with the product.

It’s freaking addictive. I’ve been playing it non-stop. I had to take a small break so that the boyfriend could try it out and he’s already in love with it.

That demo/interactive video was pointless, I could hardly watch it.
The piƱatas in the game are not like the ones in the cartoon. There isn’t any talking or singing, just some romance dancing. I find the horstachios annoying though and usually kill them on sight.

I think the spin-off kids show based on Viva Pinata (not actually handled by Rare) is actually quite damaging to the game’s image.
The intro at the beginning was just nauseous, but once in game it’s utterly charming and it’s evident that the Pinata have much more charm without speaking.
The voiceovers skew it younger than the game actually feels (reminded me how glad I am that Nintendo has always spurned voice work) as the depth of gameplay and the things you have to juggle makes me think that it’s all a bit much for the kiddies. Me, I love it, though I wonder what kind of longevity it will have.

I’ve been playing this game and it rocks. Its the The Sims meets Pokemon. Though I can’t stop singing the damn theme song.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
