Warcraft Obit Sums It All Up

wowobit

I know this one has been making the rounds for a while now, but I only discovered it recently; maybe some of you haven’t seen this oddly touching obituary (and the response) posted some time ago on the World of Warcraft community forums. Go ahead and click the picture to read what all the hubbub is/was about. For those of you disinclined to click, or read, or not familiar with the consistent wrongness of Warcraftsfolk, I’ll summarize. A poor sod who was a very active WoW player passed away (as in, like, he actually died), and his brother was considerate enough to write a forum post for the departed’s guildies and in-game friends. The response, which was terrible, mean, and such a perfectly typical WoW response (and therefore shamefully hilarious):

“Did he drop any good loot?”

How awful is that? You can’t make this crap up. But good ol’ Joystiq dug it up and aired it out again for all to see. Thanks!

Wow…....... I can’t even describe in words right now how disgusting that guy’s response is…. Just goes to show there’s some real scum out there.

I’m pretty sure that if I were enough of an artard to play WoW, I would have been enough of an artard to do the same.

Wow, thats pretty horrible. I’m just getting into WoW myself, but I would never, ever do anything like that.

Wouldn’t comments like that best be left ignored?

“artard” eh? ... lol … ok, speaking as a two 1/2 year player of WoW, I guess that makes me one. While to comment about dropping loot reflected unbelievable stupidity, be aware that WoW went through a period of “death” scams … which, unfortunately, made peeps hardened to ANY obit.

Unlike EQ and EQII people in WoW (while I was playing)never figured out how to have a service for someone who was truely gone from the game and from life.

That is so horrible!

Opps sorry … I left off the comment that the peron who made the comment about dropping loot and the other comments similar showed the …uh … personhood level of that person, not most players of that (or any) game.

So the guy /actually/ died? It’s not just someone taking the “Beginner’s Guide To Faking Your Death On The Internet” (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZXUHy8vrVY0) too literally?

In which case, that was a really terrible thing to say, natch.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
