Xbox 360 Core System for $100?
Amazon.com has come up with a new sales gimmick based on customer votes. From now until Nov.23 you can vote on which deal you would like to have. The choice of fabulous deals include:
• Mongoose Domain Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike – $30
• Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses Interactive Genevieve Doll – $10
• Prime Amazon Membership + $100 Toys Promotional Certificate – $40
• Xbox 360 Core System – $100
Obviously the stand out product here is Barbie the Xbox 360 Core System and if it gets enough votes, Amazon will provide 1,000 units at the $100 price starting Thurs. Nov. 24.
My guess is that it will win and there will be a feeding frenzy the likes of which Amazon has never seen. With only a thousand units available, they are sure go fast. It will be just like the PS3 launch only without the camping over night and the fist fights.

Yeah, if I weren’t going to be in dial-up-land at my parents’ house for Thanksgiving dinner, I’d be trying to land one of those myself. (Last I checked it had about 88% of the vote, so obviously it’s going to win unless they mobilize the Barbie mafia.)
