Ye Olde E3 Reborn As GamePro Expo
You may or may not know this, already, but it looks like E3 we knew and loved, will be rising from the dead. This time, under a different name and producer. E3 as it was, will be reborn as GamePro Expo and will take place in the same digs as E3…only in mid-October of 2007 and produced by IDG (International Data Group), “publisher of dozens of tech magazines and producer of hundreds of trade shows around the world (including Macworld).” Here is a bit of what we can expect at GamePro Expo:
“The event will have trade show, consumer, and game competition components and is being presented to Convention and Visitors Bureau members as a show that could rival the old E3 in size, scope, and impact on the Los Angeles economy…”
This is set to take place from October 18-20, 2007 and is endorsed by the ESA. What do you think about this? For me, it’s too soon for me to make a decsion about it, but I think it would be great for the gaming public. We’ll jsut have to wait and see, I suppose.

Considering that all the major pre-Xmas announcements will have been made months in advance of this show, I don’t see how they’ll get their hype level up.
