Alan Wake, I Can't Live Without You

Alan Wake

The Official Xbox Magazine recently announced that Alan Wake has been pushed back to 2008. Arggg, foiled again! Earlier, I posted an article about a demonstration on a quad core processor, which looked delicious. The physics has got to be seen to be believed. It’s just outrageous. The game is being developed for both Xbox 360 and the PC. Now Remedy has pushed the game back to 2008. I’m just going to have to hold my breath until next year, or until I pass out.

Looks nice, but is the X360 really going to be able to handle all that? They demoed the game with a top of the line, quadruple SLI blah blah whatever PC. Looks great, but it’s impractical to think you’ll get to see that kind of fluid motion on your end.

Also, I lol’d at that guy from the company. PSYCHOLOGICAL ACTION THRILLER! PSYCHOLOGICAL ACTION THRILLER! He said it like 8 million times in that weird accent. It’s not a new genre, brother.

I agree with voltRis. The quad-core demo is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. While the X360 is custom tri-core, surely they could slim it down just a bit and get something close, especially consider it to be a second gen (is 2008 third gen?) title.

Yes, yes. “And don’t call me ‘Shirley.’”
