Burger King Games Sell Millions

King Ballerina

Possibly one of the most successful ad campaigns in Burger King history, the King is, um King. In the four weeks that BK has been selling the King’s 360/Xbox games, they have cleared over 2 million copies.

Here’s what Burger King’s president of global marketing had to say about the success of the King games:

“We created the Burger King Xbox games as a unique form of all-family interactive entertainment, and we’re thrilled with the response thus far,” said Russ Klein, president of global marketing at Burger King.

“Most videogames are considered a blockbuster when they reach the one million mark in sales, and this collection has achieved twice that.”

The UK developer Blitz Games is responsible for developing the King games and for the success of the game promotion. At least Burger King went with a veritable gaming company to handle the King. Blitz is an independent company who developed Karaoke Revolution: American Idol edition, Pac Man World 3, and one of my favs from back in the day Glover for N64. I will argue that Glover was one of the best platformers for that system, and one of the best I’ve ever played.

Everyone loves games from the King [YouNEWB]

Yay! Blitz games is mentioned! I work here at Blitz and (although I wasn’t on the burger king project because I was busy doing the Wii controls for “SpongeBob Square Pants: Creature from the Krusty Krab” – great gift for any 6 to 12 year-olds in your life btw) it’s cool to see our name on the web!

Yay!

As someone who has all three…I have to say they are a SUPER value at $3.99 each. Sneak King especially is fun and interesting. Glad to see someone actually make an attempt at FUN and not just GRAPHICS in a game. Now we need a KFC game…hehe!

That King is creepy. Like seriously creepy. I’m glad he was in retirement when I was a kid.

Yeah, not a big fan of the King, but I’ve been tempted to pick at least one of them up just in case I ever get an Xbox 360. But I just don’t eat at BK that much….
