Dell Hints At New "Black Ice" Technology

Dell has thrown up a new ad on their XPS 710’s product page, touting something called Black Ice without actually explaining what the hell the technology is actually going to do. One assumes that it involves some shiny new cooling system which will allow Dell to overclock the XPS 710’s Intel Core 2 quad processors.
Dell is somewhat notorious for overclocking their various CPU systems, which sometimes overheats the processors and can shorten their lifespan. If a new cooling technology has been developed, it looks like Dell might be able to overclock the processors even more than before… of course, this is all a wild theory with no basis on anything other than beer-fueld imagination.
Too bad this new “Black Ice” probably won’t actually improve the 710’s appearance; those things are hideous.

When I read Black Ice, I assumed it was the first real life occurence of Black Ice from Shadowrun, which made me rally wonder why the first company that introduced security software that kills the intruder was Dell of all people.
