Derek Smart Announces Further Torment Of Gamers

Oh, God, please make it stop.
Derek Smart, the man behind those violations of the Geneva Convention known as Battlecruiser 3000 and Universal Combat is at it again. This time, Smart seems to think that we console gamers have been sinful in our ways and are in need of some karmic retribution because he’s announced a space combat game that has nothing to do with the Battlecruiser universe… though it’ll probably suck just as much as every other game that Smart’s put out. In an interview with Firing Squad, Smart’s shed some light on his new game… none of which sound promising at all:
FiringSquad: What can you tell us about the fictional backstory behind Galactic Command and is it set in the Battlecruiser/Universal Combat universe?
Derek Smart: Not to much to tell really. The story, though quite good and engaging, is the usual run-of-the-mill fare thats just there to give some semblance of a purpose. At the end of the day, since it is a shooter with pure goals and achievements, it is highly unlikely that anyone is going to pay any attention to the story. But if you must know, basically the Insurgents (the bane of Galactic Command forces) have been causing a ruckus during a time when GALCOM forces were stretched to the limit after a lengthy war with the Gammulans. They have decided to seize the opportunity to engage GALCOM and topple the Terran Military government at home. So, GALCOM launched a campaign to keep the Insurgents at bay and chose this first engagement to unveil their new super powerful attack carrier by sending both experimental versions into combat. Their first maiden voyage.
If that wasn’t enough to turn you off, jump over and check out the lackluster screenshots they’ve put up with the interview. Can we say “generic and sad”?

wow, I almost fell asleep reading what Derek was saying.
Derek Smart = PHAIL
i know Derek Smart, he resides here in beautiful sunny FLLAArida and frankly, his outlandish comments has always been his forte. He is truely the bad boy of the industry.
I thought that title rested with Bo Stephen Eriksen.
Does “bad boy” mean “failed jerk” now?
It’s so hard to keep up with the winternubs lingo.
