Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core Preview

The two year silence surrounding Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core for the PSP has been broken by IGN. They were fortunate enough to have a hands-on preview of the game at this year’s Jump Festa event in Tokyo. Apparently, the game is a jaw-dropper. They claim that Squeenix programmers must have unlocked secret new powers from within the bowels of the system.
The game follows Zack, one of Shinra’s soldiers who briefly appeared in the original Final Fantasy VII as one of Cloud’s old friends. Crisis Core centers around Zack, the Shinra Corp. and all of the events that built up to Final Fantasy VII.
“Crisis Core seems almost too technically sound to be a PSP game. It also appears to have some of the highest production values yet seen in a portable game. A trailer for the game shown in the Square Enix closed theater space had real time cinematic sequences featuring the likes of Cloud and Aerith, along with quality CG sequences.”
Looks like we might have a system-seller on our hands.
