Greenpeace Continues To Whine About Apple

While this isn’t really gaming related, it’s one of those articles so random that it needs to be mentioned.
While Greenpeace’s dislike of Apple Computers isn’t exactly fresh news, they’ve once again issued a PR attack against Steve Jobs’ company. Over the past couple of months, the environmental group has been waging a media war against the Cupertino CA-based computer corporation, largely based on the argument that Apple uses potentially toxic substances in their electronic products.
Greenpeace has now released their second Guide To Greener Electronics, which sees Apple Computers moving down to the bottom of the score card.
For a company that claims to lead on product design, it is perhaps surprising to find Apple at the bottom of the scorecard – moving down from 10th place. While other laggards have moved upwards in the Guide, Apple has made no changes to its policies or practices since the launch of the guide in August 2006. The company scores badly on almost all criteria.
I’m always a little hesitant to trust Greenpeace, mainly because I’ve found their campaigns and causes to be less than factually-based in the past. It probably has something to do with that lecture of Patrick Moore’s I attended a couple of years ago, as well as the way I’ve seen some of their members behave. What I’m worried about is whether or not the environmentalists are going to try and raid the upcoming MacWorld Expo, much like they disrupted the MacExpo before they were kicked out

They’re another one of those “target of the week” anti-something groups.
It’s great that they want to fix and heal the world, but they go after the biggest fish they can and hound it like a pack of starving dogs. Apple just happens to be making a lot of news in the last few years, so they’re a prime target.
what they’re really saying in that quote: “How DARE Apple not bow down to us and lick our boots in the past 4 months! They should be doing what WE tell them to do!”
