Idle Thumbs Interviews Space Channel 5 Creator

Idle Thumbs, one of the cooler alternative gaming news sites out there, has interviewed the man behind the superb Lumines, Rez and Space Channel 5 (games which we absolutely adore here at the pink castle): Tetsuya Mizuguchi.
Marek Bronstring got to sit down with the developing genius at a conference in Sweden, of all places, after he’d given a speech regarding general game development:
Despite his non-fluency, Mizuguchi always seems completely at ease. Occasionally, he will rub his head with both hands, seemingly shutting everyone out, trying to wring out an answer. Maybe he’s biting off more than he can chew, attempting to explain grand concepts that he intuitively understands. Still, he is one of the most laid back and down-to-earth personalities you’ll find in the industry.
The interview covers a bevy of different subjects, ranging from Mizuguchi’s educational background to which products of his were early failures to what the man is planning to work on after Lumines II, and each answer is amazingly thoughtful and deep.

Kinda skated around the whole “What about SC5 vs. Lady Kier Kirby” issue but not a bad read…
mizuguchi-san definitely sounds very nice, he was at a conference in zurich this october and they organized the “rez 10th anniversary party”, which i missed, sadly.
Holy shit, this just gave me a huge craving for the song, “Mexican Flyer”.
